Basic Training Kitchen

Institute has a well-equipped Basic Training Kitchen (BTK) where students are introduced to the fundamentals of cooking. It is designed to help beginners develop essential culinary skills, including knife handling, basic food preparation techniques, hygiene practices and cooking methods. This training sets the stage for more advanced culinary learning in later stages of the course.

Quantity Training Kitchen

The Quantity Training Kitchen (QTK) at institute, is a specialized kitchen designed to train students in bulk cooking operations. It prepares them for large-scale food production typically required in institutional catering, banquets, industrial canteens and hotels. At this stage, students learn to plan menus, calculate food costs, manage resources and maintain quality while cooking for large groups. The kitchen is equipped with heavy-duty commercial equipment to simulate real-world hospitality operations. This practical exposure helps students build efficiency, teamwork and time management skills, crucial for working in high-volume food production environments.

Advance Training Kitchen

The Advanced Training Kitchen (ATK) at the State Institute of Hotel Management, Udaipur, is a modern and well-equipped facility where students refine their culinary skills to professional standards. This kitchen is meant for final-year students, focusing on advanced culinary techniques, international cuisines, fine dining preparations, plating skills, and menu engineering. It also emphasizes on à la carte cooking and high-end gastronomy, preparing students for specialized roles in the hospitality industry, including chefs de partie, sous chefs and future executive chefs.

Training Restaurant

The Training of the institute, is a fully functional restaurant designed to provide hands-on experience in food and beverage service operations. It serves as a live lab where students from all years learn and practice different styles of service such as Indian, continental, silver service and buffet setups. Under the guidance of experienced faculty, students are trained in areas like order taking, table setting, guest interaction, service etiquette and restaurant management. The training also includes the use of POS systems, menu planning and sales techniques. This real-time exposure prepares students for working in fine-dining restaurants, cafés and hotel F&B departments, helping them build confidence, communication skills and professionalism.

Mock Training Bar

The Mock Training Bar of the institute, is a simulated bar setup designed to train students in the art of beverage service and bar operations. It provides hands-on experience in preparing, presenting and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (in a dry environment, as per academic norms). Students learn about different types of spirits, wines, cocktails, mocktails, bar tools, glassware and service techniques. The training also covers responsible service, bar setup, inventory handling and flair bartending basics. This practical exposure equips students with the knowledge and confidence needed for working in hotel bars, lounges and beverage outlets.

Front Office Lab

A key feature of SIHM’s infrastructure is its state-of-the-art Front Office Laboratory. This modern facility is meticulously designed to mirror the front office operations of a five-star hotel, providing students with a realistic and immersive learning environment. The lab is equipped with the latest industry-standard tools and technologies, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in areas such as guest relations, reservations, check-in and check-out procedures and customer service. ​

Housekeeping lab and Practical

The State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM) in Udaipur offers a comprehensive Housekeeping Laboratory designed to provide students with practical experience in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort.
The lab includes a mock guest room that mirrors the quality and ambiance of a five-star hotel room. This setup allows students to practice room preparation, bed making and towel origami, ensuring they master the art of creating a welcoming environment for guests.

Computer and IT Lab

Institute has a computer lab equipped with the latest computers, high-speed internet and essential software tailored for hospitality education. It provides students with practical training in hotel management systems such as property management software (PMS), reservation systems, point of sale (POS) and other hospitality-related applications. The lab also supports learning in areas like report writing, presentations, digital marketing, and research. It helps students stay updated with industry trends and enhances their technical skills, making them more competent and job-ready in the digital age of hospitality.

Smart Class Room

The Smart Classroom in the institute, is a modern, tech-enabled learning space designed to enhance the teaching and learning experience. It is equipped with interactive whiteboards, projectors, audio-visual systems and internet connectivity to support multimedia presentations, e-learning modules and live demonstrations. This setup allows faculty to deliver content in an engaging and interactive manner, making complex topics easier to understand.

Conference Hall

The Conference Hall at the State Institute of Hotel Management, Udaipur, is a well-equipped space designed for hosting seminars, guest lectures, workshops, group discussions and official meetings. It features modern audio-visual aids, comfortable seating, a podium, projector, and sound system to support professional presentations and events. The hall provides students with exposure to industry interactions, academic discussions and soft skill development activities. It plays a vital role in enhancing communication, leadership and event management skills among students.

Hostel

IHM Udaipur offers on-campus accommodation primarily for male students. There are 02 boys’ hostels have the capacity of 40 beds each and includes essential amenities such as a kitchen, mess and a common room for recreational activities.
For female students, the institute currently does not provide on-campus hostel facilities. However, they assist in arranging suitable off-campus accommodations nearby, ensuring safety and convenience.

Library

The library at the institute serves as a vital resource center for students and faculty, supporting academic and professional learning. It houses a rich collection of books, journals, magazines, project reports and research materials related to hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, food & beverage service, front office, housekeeping and management subjects.
